Advancing Molten Salt Innovation Through Collaboration

Earlier this year, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, coordinator of the HELIOTROPE project, co-organised the 1st Workshop on Molten Salts and Corrosion in Extreme Environments held in Lanzarote, Spain. This important event brought together leading experts and researchers from the fields of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), nuclear energy, and other high-temperature applications.

With active participation from HELIOTROPE partners (including VDM Metals Group, Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas», Grupo Cobra, and Tekniker) the workshop provided a valuable platform to explore corrosion mechanisms, materials degradation, and mitigation strategies essential for the advancement of thermal energy storage systems.

We are proud to see the HELIOTROPE research community contributing actively to the scientific discussions that are shaping the future of sustainable energy technologies.

A heartfelt thank you to all contributors who made this event a success. We look forward to continuing this collaborative journey and fostering further knowledge exchange.
